I’m Kackie Cohen, welcome to my blog! This is my way of sharing the things I enjoy most: gardening, doing stuff around the house, and cycling. I live in Santa Cruz, California, nestled in the northern curve of the Monterey Bay. Our Mediterranean climate makes year-round gardening a joy, and hummingbirds and butterflies are steady garden visitors in every season. The nearby Salinas Valley is known as the salad bowl of the world- no matter where you live, chances are the strawberries, artichokes, and brussels sprouts you’re eating are from right here.
Santa Cruz is one of the best places in the world to ride a bike, road and mountain. I ride both, but my heart is in the dirt, and the trails at Wilder Ranch State Park and Fort Ord National Monument just down the road in Monterey are where I can be found riding most days.
If you’re planning a visit to Santa Cruz or the Monterey Bay area, let me know. I’ll fill you in on the can’t-miss roads and trails, as well as local shuttles, bike shops, and group rides to make the most of your time in the saddle while you are here. The Santa Cruz Mountains are also home to over 60 wineries and there’s a booming microbrew scene in the area too; I’m happy to give you the scoop on the best ones to check out.
I’m looking forward to meeting you!
